During October the outreach group were asked to make recommendations to PCC about St John’s mission giving. After considerable deliberation, we put forward the following proposals :
Continue our support for USPG (60%);
The Tyanjane Clinic in Malawi (20%),
Christian Aid (10%), and
A Rocha ( the Christian environmental charity that runs the Eco church award scheme amongst other activities) (10%) .
We were pleased that PCC decided to follow our recommendations and allocated £5,000 for the giving. This is a really powerful statement that, despite demands on funds here, we are willing to be generous to those in need around the world and particularly for those being impacted by climate change.
