CHURCHYARD

A small team of dedicated gardeners have developed a series of gardens to enhance the beauty of the churchyard. There are several distinct areas of planting which include a conservation area planted with a variety of wild flowers and bulbs. St John's is delighted to play its part in the Menston in Bloom project which enhances the village.

A leaflet giving details of much of the planting is freely available from the welcome area at the back of church.

In April 2012 an Amelanchier tree was planted in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Are you green fingered or young and energetic? If so, churchyard maintenance team would be delighted to hear from you. Help is needed to cut the grass, rake up leaves in autumn, weed borders and care for the conservation area. Contact via the Parish Office.
