St John's supports the work of Christian Aid - to bring an end to poverty around the world by tackling its root causes and effects. 
 

Christian Aid’s work which is focused in a number of key areas: climate change, trade, conflict, HIV and malaria, human rights and justice. This is in addition to its more well known work offering disaster relief at times of emergencies such as earthquakes and flooding.
 

Each year St John's, in conjunction with Menston Methodist Church, supports Christian Aid Week, the annual fundraising event to enable the work of Christian Aid throughout the world. Over 60 volunteers knock on every door of every house within Menston with a Christian Aid envelope and seek a donation.

In 2019, Menston village raised the magnificent sum of £3,645 for Christian Aid through the house-to-house collection in May. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
