Messy Easter April 6 2012

On Good Friday we held Messy Easter – fellowship and informal worship aimed at families. 80+ children and adults experienced the sadness and joy of the Easter Story through crafts, worship and bring and share lunch.

Younger children and their parents made hot cross buns, chalices, felt purses, crosses and Easter gardens, while children in school year 6 and above made a modern day film of the Easter story in which Jesus was killed by poisoning in the Fox pub in Menston! During worship we reflected on Jesus’ presence in sad times and in joyful times and the Easter promise of new life.

The messy event was put together in collaboration between St John’s and Menston Methodist Church and will definitely be repeated, so watch out for advertisements.
