Families

St John's has several groups specifically aimed at meeting the needs of families, children and young people. They include:

1st Sunday
  • Roots: 6 - 11 years. Roots have fun! Stories from the Old and New Testaments using a Children's Bible with linked games, crafts and activities and chat about how stories can link to everyday life.

2nd Sunday

Let’s Worship in the Parish Room @ 9.15am ~ an informal service for families as advertised.

4th  Sunday 

Sunday Together. All-age worship as advertised. Occasionally with Communion.

1st / 3rd / 5th Sundays 

  • Seedlings6 mths - 6 yearsA fun time with craft activities, singing, Bible stories, games before joining families in church in time for communion. 

Wednesdays 

Little Hands aged 0 - 5yrs in the Parish Room during termtime.

Alternate Thursdays

Three Fs: age 11+ meet in the Vicarage for Food, Fun and Finding out More

 

Members of Roots who are over 10 years of age are also encouraged to get involved with Otley Deanery Youth Network events.

Each week during term time our Open the Book storytelling team presents a Bible story to some of the pupils at Menston Primary School.

Several times a year we meet for a Parish Breakfast which is held between the 8am and 10am services. The children have a wonderful time helping to serve breakfast.

 

We enjoy our connection with the local Uniformed Organisations in Menston.

 

Child Protection / Safeguarding
