MOTHERS’ UNION OPEN EVENING
Tuesday 23 April – 7.30pm in the Parish Room
Those reading the church magazine who might sometimes have wondered what Mothers Union is all about, are invited to attend a social evening. There will be publicity material about the Mothers’ Union and a warm supper with wine. The vicar, the Revd Ruth Yeoman, who became a member during 2012, will host the evening and give a short talk. It will be an informal evening, and any guests would be warmly welcomed.
What is the Mothers' Union?
With 4 million members working in 83 countries, the Mothers' Union is passionate about caring for families all around the world. Members are not all mothers, or even all women. Single, married, parents, grandparents, or young adults just beginning to express their social conscience. For all 4 million members what Mothers' Union provides is a network through which they can serve Christ in their own community - through prayer, financial support and actively working at the grassroots level in programmes that meet local needs. They lobby local and national governments on issues affecting family life and campaign to challenge legislation that neglects the vulnerable and marginalised.
